With over a decade of experience, the London Wine Academy offers a unique approach to wine education. The unparalleled expertise of our small team allied to our friendly, informal style really does set us apart from the competition. All our courses and events are intended and designed to be enjoyable as well as informative.

Wine Courses (6 weeks)

These structured classes follow the systematic approach to wine tasting and cover all the main grape varieties, styles and regions of the world. Most wines are tasted “blind” or unseen so that you learn to judge the quality of a wine on merit, without any preconceptions. We aim to give you the tools to understand the wines that you are drinking and the knowledge to experiment with new styles and buy with confidence. Production methods, ageing potential, wine and food matching, storage conditions, faults and other important issues are covered on all courses.

Course notes and ISO tasting glasses are provided for all our courses, including the introductory Level One wine course and Level Two course. Our Level One and Level Two courses run over six consecutive weeks between 7pm-9pm. For a small fee, missed classes may be attended at a later date, subject to availability.  Please contact the office for full details and to arrange.

Dinner Club

If you join our Level 1 course at the Peasant or the Atlas, you will have the option to stay and enjoy a sumptuous dinner afterwards... the perfect way to get to know your fellow students and make new friends! (Please see our level 1 page for full details) introductory Level One wine course

One Day Workshops

Our fun and informative Introductory One Day Wine Courses run at weekends throughout the year and are great for wine lovers of any standard seeking a comprehensive overview to the exciting world of wine. Our more specialised workshops for example the Burgundy, Bordeaux or Champagne and Sparkling Wine may be tutored by an expert guest speaker or visiting winemaker and will explore a region or subject in-depth. All workshops include a 2 or 3 course lunch and food and wine matching is always a key theme. Professional tasting glasses and course notes are provided for all workshops.

Gift Vouchers

A wine tasting course is the perfect gift for wine lovers, but can also be a clever buy for that impossible relative or friend, who seems to have everything! Should you wish to give someone a gift voucher for Christmas or as a birthday present, we can email or post them to you. Vouchers can be booked for a specific date or you can book an open voucher redeemable against any of our courses (valid for 6 months from the date of purchase). A longer expiry date can be requested – please call us for details. Open gift vouchers can be used towards any of our wine courses.

Our educators are the very best in their field and include Masters of Wine, Buyers and top Sommeliers. We understand that expertise is not everything and only use passionate tutors who have the ability to communicate and pass on knowledge, whatever your level.
