Master Classes : Port Masterclass

Port Masterclass

Port, lush and sweet, is one of the most delicious wines in the world. So why, oh why do we only buy it at Christmas? Stand up and be counted Port-lovers or this wine may die out. Port is one of the great classics of the wine world, but neednít be treated like a museum piece. We will demonstrate that Port is a style that is as valid today as it was 300 years ago.

Our Goal

We want you to drink more port! Of course bottle-aged Vintage Port is the most famous style, but letís not forget the more affordable fresh white Ports and wood-aged styles like Tawny, Crusted and LBV. We also want to show the versatility of this wine. Yes, port is great with Stilton, but we will also show you some other great Port and food combinations such as chocolate!

Course Content

Port is one of the oldest styles of wines and has been shipped to London for more than 300 years. We will help you discover its rich history, astonishing terraced vineyards and unique production process. We aim to show you Port isnít just for the festive period and posh alpha males! So if you like wine and have only dabbled or never delved into the world of Port, this is your chance.

We want you to understand how diverse the Port category can be. You will learn how to taste Port like an expert, identify classic Port styles, assess quality and find out the best time to drink it. Youíll also be given food and Port matching tips from almonds and jamon to chocolate and ice-cream!
